Giga-waabaamin Naano-giizhigad gigizheb

Boozhoo niiji, I thank you for your kind words and support over the last few weeks. I have been able to use the BYKI on the mac and share it with my family. Everybody wants to download it on their computers so they can practice their Anishinaabemowin. My computer came and I will bring it this Friday. Its a PC so hopefully I can get the software loaded onto it. I haven't been able to get online with my PC or the Mac yet to see the movies but I am looking forward to it. My speech is still coming along but I need to spend more time on it. I have some sap to boil down so I may work on it then. I'm hoping netting & spearing aren't happening this weekend but I have a feeling its going to open the same time as our classes. I tried to comment on Phylisses blog to ask her if she was going netting too. I know she likes doing that as well. I feel the absense of the language when I'm doing things like boiling sap or netting fish. I will see you on Friday morning.

  1. I am concerned about my speech. I have not practiced enough. I stopped to visit with Larry 'Amik'Smallwood to help with the speech but there wasn't enough time. I listen to myself and wonder what language I am speaking because it doesn't sound like Ojibwe. I left the immersion grounds with fresh maple syrup for my mother and myself. I am happy about that.

  2. Geget, giga-waabamin apii.

    I will have the installation discs there and it will be no problem to put it on a PC :) (they actually work better on a PC!).

    Have a safe trip and we will see you then :)

  3. Boozhoo Jeff;
    I have been so concerned and worried about you. My heart is in tune with you and I know the Creator knows you well, He will keep you strong and well in your loss of your Father. Yes, thank you for thinking of me in the Netting season, I do plan to fish too, I am sure the lake will be open this weekend. The water may be too cold for spawning though. It is a good feeling to think of the netting and the good fish to fry.(smile) Right now, Scott and I are in a dilemma on a use of a boat. Our source for last year, is using his. Ha. Take care, and I will see you on Friday. Great news, that you got your PC. Fantastic. I know you could do it. Gii Gaawaabamin noongom. Dedahgwash.
